Welcome to Red Barn Montessori: Your Trusted Montessori School in Brackendale

Red Barn Montessori Inc. will provide an authentic AMI Montessori experience to children aged 2.5 to 6 years. The Montessori pedagogy of freedom and independence coupled with the perfectly timed lesson nurtures the child's natural curiosity about the world, developing a life-long love of learning. In a Montessori environment, the development of the "whole child" is taking place; a child who is socially, emotionally and intellectually confident and ready for new challenges.

Red Barn Montessori Inc. is a community of children, parents and staff all working together with mutual respect and compassion.  In the classroom, children have the opportunity to become mentors, sharing their developing skills and knowledge with one another. Community events such as potlucks will be hosted to connect families throughout the year.

At Red Barn Montessori, we are committed to providing an authentic AMI Montessori experience for children aged 2.5 to 6 years. Located in the beautiful community of Brackendale, Squamish, our school offers a nurturing and stimulating environment where children are encouraged to explore, learn, and grow at their own pace.

Why Choose Montessori Education?

About Us

LISA DICKSON
I have been living in Whistler and Squamish for the past 25 years. During this time I found many passions in my life one of which was being a Mountain Bike Coach and operating after school programs for children for 15 years.  I transferred my passion for working with children from biking to the Montessori pedagogy where I've been a Montessori guide for the past 10 years.  I feel so grateful to have the opportunity to work with children in such a beautiful community.

Our Program

In the morning, the children will be in the classroom, receiving developmentally appropriate individual and group lessons. When not in a lesson, the children will be encouraged to work independently with the materials, assist in the maintenance of the environment or eat snack. Following the morning cycle of activity, the children may choose to participate in a group circle time followed by a communal lunch. The afternoon session will be predominantly nature-based art activities and free play.
